I'm commuting to a new office here in DC and want to know if anyone has suggestions on how to handle clothing storage in the office. I'm stuck in an office, in a cube. There is no closet or office door for me to hang my clothes and I would prefer not to carry them in my bag b/c they will get too wrinkled. The best thing I can think of so far is to buy a coat rack and hang my shirts and pants from there. Has anyone run into this issue before and if so, how did you solve this problem?

Hey Mike,

Do you have a coat closet in your office? If so, get a plastic suit bag and hang it all there. The bag will likely be black so folks won't know what's inside unless they unzip it. You risk someone walking off with your stuff, but you have the same problem anyway if you put it in your cubicle.

Where are you in DC? Many gyms and facilities have locker rentals where you can use their showers. I know that the bike shop that we stopped in once has very nice facilities, but it will probably be pretty expensive.

Are you gonna just take Georgia Ave. all the way in?

James,

Thanks. I'm down in SE right next to the Navy Yard. I'm fortunate enough to have a "fitness center" in my building with showers facilities, unfortunately the lockers are for temp use only and my office does not have a closet. I'm thinking of buying a coat rack to hang my stuff from.

How the racing coming along?

The coat rack is probably your best option. You can at least hang it somewhere in your office.

My early races got cancelled because of the either the snowstorm or the potholes left after the snowstorm. My first race is this weekend. It's a 40k time trial and I'm pretty excited. I have my first crit next weekend and then a road race after that. I'll keep you posted!

When are we riding again????

Good luck with the races. You should do short write-ups and post them here.

I'm up for riding anytime but it sounds like you've been training and b/c of the weather I haven't spent much time on the bike. So as long as you don't mind dragging me along, let's go.

My office is a few miles from Haines Point, if your up for a ride some evening we can meet there. If daylight is an issue for your commute, we can ride to my place and I'll through your bike on my rack and drive you back.

Sat morns are also good. I'm headed up to Philly this w/e but let meet up to ride soon.
