While I was in Singapore launching our fabulous new concept store Elite Bicycles Asia I was honored and fortunate enough to meet Enrico Varella, a very engaging and charismatic gentleman who I then had the privilege of having lunch with. We also shared many hours together during his fitting session, and a lovely social evening during our first ever open house.

I was recently asked to do an interview by Kate Bongiovanni, a contributing writer for the Competitor magazine group. Below you will find our question and answer session. Hope you enjoy the read! Perhaps you will gain a little more insight into who I am, how Elite was started, and the philosophy of how we try to conduct ourselves. Thank you to Kate for her interest, time, and efforts to conduct the interview.

How old are you?

I am a very young 39 years old.

What do you consider your hometown?

I am a Philly boy through and through (go EAGLES). However I will always have a heart felt fondness for “sweet Jamaica, mi island home”.

The following is the full text which I used as my guideline to speak on the topic given to me by  Jordan D. Metzl, MD, the handsome  NYC orthopedist and all around great guy who facilitated the event.  We will be adding the full presentation and information to our upcoming Fit Tech page in the Fit section of our web site,  http://www.elitebicycles.com/tech_fit.php along with a plethora of other information that I believe will be educational and useful to  fitters and athletes alike.  The following, even though there is some crossover, is not part of my series of articles both written and to be written about “Perfect Fit”, (which I do intend to continue once I find some extra time). If you are eagerly awaiting  part 5 (I heard you Noah), I apologize for the delay, and assure you it will be soon written. As with everything I write, please feel free to comment and/or ask any questions you may have on this topic.

“HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT BIKE FOR ME”

Variables will exists in any repeated and recorded, action – re-action. Thus my opinions are learned consistencies observed through perceivably reliable testing.  The following is not conclusive to all bicycle purchases, however it should represent the spectrum of needs for most on road active cyclists.

A Very Sad Loss…

We at Elite Bicycles wish to send our condolences to the family and friends of Matt McCulley, an Elite family member who has recently passed. Matt was an outstanding and generous person. As founder and race director of the Sea Isle City, N.J., “Tri for Our Veterans,” he put together a race to benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and VFW Post 1963 in Sea Isle City. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those close to him.
