Hi! It is Bike of the Week time once again.

Today’s featured speed machine is Chryssa Kasparian’s Joule Pro Carbon. If you were unaware, Chryssa is David’s better half, and the beauty and attention to detail on her bike really speaks to how much David cares about her and making her ride perfect. I think it is very romantic. Anyway, onto the bike at hand.

Get Well Soon

Elite Bicycles rider and all around great guy Fred Klauber is currently recovering from what I would call a major surgery.  Fred first learned about his heart condition when he collapsed meters from the finish line at this years Nations Tri in DC. Fred went into surgery on Thursday morning and is hopefully recovering well. Both Fred and his lovely wife Arlene  (who makes the best apple brownies ever) are VERY active members of Team in Training and other charitable organizations.  We wish Fred all the best in his recovery and our thoughts and prayers are with him.

R.I.P. Flying Pink Flamingo

Thought this was pretty funny…

_______________________________

In sports news today, the lighting fast tri-bike known as the Flying Pink Flamingo was found dead of an apparent overdose in a suite at a trendy Hollywood Hotel last night.

The Flying Pink Flamingo made a name for itself by turning in a blazing fast bike split at Ironman Coeur d’ Alene in June of this year.

After that impressive performance, the bike came to the attention of national media and even had a racy photo display on the popular website – Elite Bicycles.  Despite an upcoming race in Kona, Hawaii, The Flamingo began staying out late and was frequently seen at bars with a variety of companions by it’s side.  The list was a virtual who’s who of the sports and entertainment world ranging from Chrissie Wellington’s Cannondale to Paris Hilton’s Huffy’s (a bike of questionable moral character).

Authorities were called to the hotel room around 3:30 a.m. this morning after other guests complained of non-stop salsa music and sounds that could only be described as “disturbing”.

Upon entering the room, Police found the Flamingo unconscious in the bathroom surrounded by empty bottles of chain lubricant and co2 cartridges.

Attempts to revive were unsuccessful and the Flamingo was pronounced deceased at 3:35 a.m.
The bikes owner – Bill Beyer was not immediately available for comment.

philly-snow

I never thought I would feel this way, but I am actually looking forward to this weather again. Crazy.

Probably because it is still sweltering here in Philadelphia, with just enough rain mixed in to provide about 150% humidity and make it practically unbearable. And right when it dries out enough to go for a mountain bike ride it starts to rain again and ruins everything. Truly frustrating.

Click on Read More – its worth it! Seriously!
